Great name Shawn same name as my moms brother different spelling.
The affirmative? Being Roman Catholic I cant but here goes?
Insurance is about risk and profits.
Dont use the word actuary or you lose!!!
Focus on greed mechanisms and fear, you can manipulate the argument anyway you want for profit given the current economic crisis personalise it with a testimonial stating an example of not being allowed to achieve profits given the facts your story alludes should work!
Warning, stay off areas of prejudice like mental illness and fear on the basis of what folks in audience identify with it could lose you points???
Pro
1. It allows them to avoid covering a pre-existing condition when they are excluded by the policy.
2. It allows them to help make good decisions on health care.
3. It prevents delays and arguments about the necessity for needed treatments when genetic tests show the treatments are necessary.
4. It is another diagnostic tool to help the insureds.
5. It allows the insurance company to help coordinate medical treatment when there are several doctors.
Con
1. Insurance companies can discriminate against the disabled and even the potentially disabled.
2. It allows insurance companies to avoid insuring people who may become sick.
3. It permits insurance companies access to otherwise confidential private information.
They won’t help unless they know because that’s the way it works.
